A celebrated photographic portrait of Paris at the turn of the millennium, Parisians brings together Peter Turnley’s deeply human black-and-white photographs made over decades of living and working in the French capital. Rather than focusing on landmarks alone, Turnley captures the city's everyday poetry through intimate moments of love, solitude, celebration and quiet reflection. With forewords by legendary French photographers Edouard Boubat and Robert Doisneau, alongside texts by Adam Gopnik and Peter Turnley himself, this is both an important documentary record and a timeless tribute to Parisian life.

Bound in black cloth boards with blind-stamped lettering and red title to the front board, complete with the original photographic dust jacket featuring one of Turnley’s iconic Paris street images. Illustrated throughout with full-page and double-page black-and-white photographs reproduced on high-quality paper.

Very good condition: Light rubbing and minor bumping to corners of boards. Dust jacket shows light edge wear, creasing and a few small closed tears, most noticeable along the lower edge. Internally clean and tightly bound, with a touch of age-toning along the edges of the pages.
