Aurora Kunstverlag, Leningrad, 1980 | Hardcover, 167pp | 24 x 27.5 cm
A striking and uncommon Soviet-era art volume dedicated to modern Lithuanian stained glass (vitrazas), documenting the intense colour, light and symbolic forms that defined the Baltic school of glass art during the 1960s–1970s.
Features bold full-page colour reproductions of monumental works in churches, civic buildings and cultural institutions across Lithuania, photographed by I. Polis. Book design by J. Kisseljow - the typography and layout are distinctly modernist, with vivid contrast and high production values typical of Aurora’s art publishing in the USSR.
Large format hardcover with silver lettering to front board and blue cloth spine. Printed on glossy stock and profusely illustrated in colour and b&w. Text in German.
Very good condition: Mild surface and edge wear to covers. Internally clean and tightly bound. No inscriptions.
