Corraini [2007]. Hardcover, 32pp. 30.2 x 21.6 cm.

Originally published in 1945, 'I Colori' is a children's picture book introducing young readers to the wonderful world of colours through unparalleled use of geometric abstraction and striking graphic design.

In the first part of this beautiful book, the three primary colours and their complementary ones are associated with simply drawn everyday objects. The second part is dedicated to overlapping colours presented in a strict, geometric manner creating pages reminiscent of the Author's abstract painting works.

Luigi Veronesi [1908-1998] was an Italian photographer, painter, scenographer and film director perhaps best known for his colour transpositions of music scores. He was a member of the MAC [Movement for Concrete Art] and one of the most “European” among Italian abstract painters. He also was one of the first authors to use photography in children's books.

Second Corraini edition. Printed in Italy. Text in Italian and English. Bound in paper-covered printed boards with contrasting yellow tape spine.
