A multilingual exhibition catalogue exploring the visual imagination of Federico Fellini through the drawings, caricatures and graphic notes that shaped his cinematic universe. Curated by Pier Marco De Santi, the book traces Fellini’s habit of sketching characters long before they reached the screen: grotesques, dream figures, archetypes, half-remembered faces. The result is a rare look at Fellini not as director but as draftsman - a portrait of an artist who storyboarded instinctively, using drawing as a form of self-investigation and narrative rehearsal.

Illustrated throughout with sketches, production stills and early concept drawings, the catalogue accompanied the Accademia Italiana exhibition in autumn 1989. A fascinating document of process, showing how Fellini’s private visual language fed directly into the texture of films such as , La Strada and Roma. Text in Italian, English, French and German.

Very good condition: Light rubbing and edge wear to covers; faint surface marks to the rear panel; internally clean, bright and tightly bound. no inscriptions.
