LOEWE, 2021 | 28 × 35 cm | Large Format | Ed. by Jonathan Anderson
A rare instalment from LOEWE’s high-concept editorial project, Eye/LOEWE/You, Issue 16 continues Jonathan Anderson’s restless, shape-shifting exploration of fashion as image culture.
This edition gathers a remarkable group of collaborators, including David Sims, Juergen Teller, Marco Tondo, Ute Ruhlo and others, weaving together photographs, collage, surreal interventions and studio experiments. The result is a magazine that blurs the boundaries between fashion, art and visual research: a world where sculpture, bodies, objects and graphics merge into a single, deliberately unstable narrative. Across its pages, the issue shifts from dreamlike landscapes to stark digital abstractions, from intimate portraiture to theatrical, near-sculptural poses.
As with all LOEWE publications of this period, the issue reads less like a brand publication and more like a contemporary art object: a snapshot of a label thinking visually, freely and without commercial compromise.
Condition: This is a well-handled copy with clear signs of use. Covers show creasing, edge wear, marks and general surface wear. Corner folds to pages. Studio Ghibli sticker sheet present and complete, although with some creasing and edge wear caused by shifting on the page. Despite its rough exterior, the magazine remains complete and fully legible — a solid reference copy of a rare issue that seldom appears on the market.
