A bold debut issue of Emulsion, a new publication documenting cutting-edge art, design and contemporary culture. Founded by artist Louis Morlet and designer Michael Opie O’Grady, and designed by London-based studio Our Place, the magazine sets out to capture a pluralistic, globalised creative landscape through experimental editorial design and diverse contributions.
Featuring artist interviews, photography, fashion, music, original artworks and critical writing, the issue brings together an international roster including Jonathan Castro, Ida Ekblad, Mark Leckey, Lorenzo Senni, Stelarc and more. The publication functions as both document and platform - binding disparate practices into a cohesive yet visually dynamic whole.
Each feature is distinctly art-directed to reflect the work it presents: from monochrome, character-driven illustration layouts to immersive spreads pairing 3D, graffiti-like digital forms with atmospheric colour fields. Typography plays a central role, combining bold custom lettering with a restrained palette of typefaces to create visual continuity across shifting aesthetics.
With its striking production and ambitious scope, Emulsion captures a moment of energetic cross-disciplinary exchange - where contemporary image-making, sound, fashion and digital culture collide.
Very good condition: Light handling wear to covers; internally clean and tightly bound.
