A scarce, treasured collection of superb recipes written by one of the first women to earn a law degree from Tulane University, a successful politician in northeastern Louisiana and an unrivalled cooking queen of the Deep South, Marie Louise Snellings (1912-1994).

Marie Louise shares her culinary secrets just the way she would tell you if you were standing with her in the kitchen. Many of the recipes originated in Louisiana, where the Author was from, but there is also a good selection of Acadian, Cajun, Creole and other cosmopolitan dishes. 

The engaging text is accompanied by wonderful [and often hilarious] illustrations created by Mary Nell Averette. Each illustration is blank on reverse and printed on a fairly thick, textured paper, so they could easily be removed and framed.

A vintage cookery book like no other. 

Good+ vintage condition: Mild wear/rubbing to covers, including minor scratches and various little marks. Internally clean and complete, with no loose or missing pages. Pages a little age-tanned, mainly along the edges.
